On Thursday, prosecutors laid out a meticulous timeline of events from trips the senator took to Egypt to dinners in the U.S. with Egyptian officials and gifts of watches to gold bars as they try to prove Menendez’s actions were in line with a quid pro quo and not merely business as usual for a U.S. senator.
