♪ - Oh, it looks like Weep is coming our way.
Right to us.
- Hi Derb, what are you doing?
Ouch.
- What happened?
Are you all right?
- I stepped on something.
It hurt the bottom of my foot.
Here it is.
- What is it?
Is it a little rock?
Is it a pebble?
- It looks like a seed.
It's the only one around here.
I don't see any others.
- A seed.
What kind of seed?
- I don't know.
It could be a seed from a flower or a plant.
- It could grow up to be a big giant tree.
The biggest tree for miles around.
- Or it could grow up to be a small, tiny flower.
What kind of a seed are you, little one?
- Hi guys.
- Hi Waddle.
We found a seed.
We're trying to figure out what kind of a seed it is.
- That's a seed all right.
Maybe Pollytop could help search on the internet to find out what kind of seed it is.
There must be a web page showing pictures of different seeds.
If you find a picture that looks like it, you'll know what kind of seed it is.
- Or I could plant it in a flower pot to see if it will sprout and grow.
- I like that plan.
You can take care of it.
Give it water and protect it.
- That's what I'm going to do.
I'm going to take good care of it.
- Such fun.
I wonder what the seed will grow into.
What a surprise for Weep.
He was not expecting to find a seed.
Just goes to show you something new can happen when you least expect it.
You never know.
You never know.
- [Narrator] Weep went back to his log to plant the seed he found.
A little while later, Derb dropped by to see how Weep was making out with his new project.
- Wow.
That's a nice flower pot.
Where did you get it, Weep?
- I found this old flower pot a few days ago when I was picking up litter along the stream.
It looked like it might be useful, so I kept it.
I decided to clean the pot and painted designs on the side to make it a little fancy.
- Well, it looks like it's brand new.
You did a great job.
The seed you plant should be very happy.
- Whoa.
Oh sorry.
I was on my way somewhere, but now I'm here.
Hi Weep.
That's a cool hat you have there.
Did you make it?
- It's not a hat, it's a flower pot.
It's a home for plants.
- Weep cleaned up an old flower pot.
He found it and decorated it.
Don't you think it looks great?
- Absolutely.
It looks wonderful.
Are you sure it's not a hat though?
I would wear it.
- It's a flower pot.
I added some clean dirt to it and planted the seed so it can grow.
- Looks like it would make a great flower pot too.
I better get going.
I think I was on my way somewhere.
I'll check back later.
Bye.
- Wait, did you say you were going to put clean dirt in the flower pot?
Isn't dirt dirty?
- I used clean dirt.
I picked out all the roots, rocks and weeds.
Clean dirt will help the seed grow strong.
- I guess that makes sense.
How did you plant the seed?
- I filled the flower pot with dirt and then I got to do the fun part.
I made a hole in the dirt for the seed to go into.
- How did you make the hole?
- I just pushed my thumb into the dirt.
A perfect hole.
- You stuck your thumb in the dirt to make the hole?
- Yep.
After I made a hole, I put a seed in it and covered the seed with some dirt.
- What if it went in upside down?
Will it grow out the bottom of the pot?
- No.
It should grow up to the surface of the dirt.
That's how it works.
- Are you sure?
- Pretty sure.
- Is that all you have to do to plant the seed?
- No.
One last thing.
We lightly water it.
(playful music) All done.
That will help wake up the seed to make it grow.
Now we wait.
- So how long does it take for the seed to sprout?
You know, pop up through the dirt?
How long do we need to wait?
- Two or three days, maybe a week.
It depends on what kind of a seed it is.
- A week, that's seven days.
That's forever.
- These things take time.
- Patience.
- Just think of all the work the little seed must be doing to open its shell and grow to the surface of the soil.
That little seed will be busy the whole time.
- We just need to wait for it to push up through the dirt.
- Well, this has been fun week, but I have to go take care of a few things, so I'm going to leave for now.
I'll check back later, okay?
Okay?
- What?
Oh, okay.
I'll keep watch over my little buddy here.
I'll keep it warm and make sure the soil doesn't dry out.
Thanks for helping, friend.
You'll be safe with me.
I'll keep you warm with the sunlight.
Don't worry, you won't get too dry.
I'll check on you every day.
I can tell you stories.
Do you know the story about the three pigs?
It goes something like this.
Once upon a time there were three pigs.
I don't know their names.
I don't know your name little seed.
Do you have a name?
I don't think I introduced myself.
I'm Weep.
I'm a tree hugger.
(whistle sounds) - Hey kids, what time is it?
- It's puzzle time.
(whistle sounds) (he crashes) - Hi Pollytop.

- Can I help you with some information, show you a video or play a game?
- Ooh, a game would be nice.
- Mm yes.
A game.
That would be fun.
- Very well.
Let me think for a second.
I have prepared a discovery game for you to play.
- A discovery game.
- [Polly] On my screen, I will reveal the lines of a drawing one line at a time.
The object of the game is to correctly guess what the complete drawing is before I reveal the last line.
Are you ready to play?
- I understand how to play.
Are you ready, Berb?
- Okay.
Ready?
Play - [Polly] 3, 2, 1.
Start.
- Look Berb, can you guess what the drawing is?
I'm having trouble.
There's not enough lines yet.
- Hmm?
Is it a tree?
Is a rock, a big rock?
- It looks like fur or hair, don't you think?
- Is it a furry rock?
A rock covered with hair?
- [Polly] Would you like a hint?
- [{Waddle] I see two eyes.
It must be a drawing of someone.
- Yes.
A hint, please.
- [Polly] Here's your hint.
This is a drawing of someone you know.
- [Waddle] Wait, I think I see Derb on the left side.
- Derb, which one?
- [Waddle] The one on the left.
- I see him.
The one on the right looks like Weep.
It's Derb and Weep.
Ha ha.
- [Polly] You are correct.
It is a drawing of Derb and Weep.
Would you like me to print out a copy of the drawing to color in with crayons?
- Yes, please.
I'll color Derb a bright yellow - But Berb, Derb is purple, not yellow.
- I know.
I'd like to see what Derb would look like if he were yellow.
(laughs) - You're silly Berb.
(they plop in water) - Hey Weep, you sure are taking good care of the seed you found and planted.

This is hard to believe.
You and Derb are best friends.
- We are best friends.
But Weep's right.
He was really sad when he found Pollywog Pond.

I was watching some birds flying when I heard the biggest saddest moan ever.

Sometimes I like to just sit and listen to the songs the birds sing.

- Ouch.

- I'm Derb.
I didn't mean to surprise you.
Is your head okay?
- It's been better.
- What you doing?
- If you must know I'm moving into this log to hide from everyone.
- Hide, why do you wanna hide from everyone?
Are you playing hide and seek, or are you in trouble?
Won't your friends miss you?
No, I'm not in trouble and I don't have any friends except for the flowers, plants and trees.
They are my real friends.
- You don't have any friends?
What about at home?
- No.
No friends, no home.
I don't seem to fit in anywhere so I decided to just hide from everyone.
I'm not like you.
You seem nice and happy.
You must have lots of friends.
- Not really.
I'm the only one here that I know of.
I just moved into that tree over there.
Looks like we'll be neighbors.
- Neighbors.
Why would you want me as a neighbor?
Maybe I should find somewhere else to hide from everyone.
- Too late.
