Since 2016, Rhode Island educators have been required to teach students about genocide. In recognition of Genocide Awareness Month, Rhode Island PBS Weekly interviews survivors of some of the most unspeakable modern atrocities, including the Holocaust, the Khmer Rouge, and the Armenian Genocide. These survivors and educators discuss the importance of learning from history's darkest chapters.
